As a major producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Sempra Infrastructure Partners has positioned itself as a leader in the global transition to more sustainable energy sources. LNG is a cleaner alternative to traditional energy sources and will serve as a critical bridge to a low-carbon future.
Adding to its existing LNG projects in Mexico, California and Louisiana, Sempra Infrastructure Partners and ConocoPhillips are collaborating on the Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project in Jefferson County, Texas. With disruptions in the energy markets due to geopolitical and other factors, this project will help support global energy security.
S&C advised Sempra Infrastructure Partners on both the $7 billion project financing and the related sale of a non-controlling interest in the project to a KKR-managed infrastructure fund. In recent years, S&C has also advised Sempra on strategic financings to support the development of North American clean energy infrastructure.
