Symbotic, a leading provider of artificial intelligence-powered automation technology for the supply chain, and SoftBank Group announced the formation of a joint venture, GreenBox Systems, that will serve the warehouse-as-a-service market.
By using Symbotic’s advanced AI and automation technology, GreenBox will automate supply chain networks globally. The technology, which will be installed in both single- and multi-tenant facilities, will allow these facilities to operate with greater efficiency and fundamentally reshape the economics of automated supply chain services.
In tandem with the partnership, Symbotic has also agreed to a $7.5 billion new customer contract with GreenBox, which will make the newly formed entity the sole provider of Symbotic systems in the warehouse-as-a-service market.
