June Hu is Special Counsel in the Firm’s General Practice Group. She advises public and private companies and their boards of directors on complex corporate governance and sustainability matters. She counsels clients on high-stakes issues, including crisis management, shareholder activism, and regulatory investigations and scrutiny at the federal and state levels. June coordinates S&C’s global Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Practice and frequently speaks and publishes on governance and sustainability topics.
June is a trusted advisor on shareholder and stakeholder engagement, including interactions with institutional and retail investors, proxy advisors, regulators, and special interest groups. She also helps clients navigate emerging developments, including changing regulations, corporate redomestications and retail voting programs. She is a recognized resource on shareholder proposals, having analyzed every proposal submitted to S&P Composite 1500 companies since 2018 as an author of S&C’s annual proxy season review.
As coordinator of the Firm’s global ESG practice, June advises corporations and trade organizations on sustainability-related strategy, disclosure, due diligence, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. She also advises on governance and sustainability aspects of transactional matters and has represented a broad range of leading financial institutions, industrial companies, and global brands.
