The Financial Times has named S&C a finalist in two categories for its Innovative Lawyers North America Awards. The awards recognize “the best in innovation from law firms and in-house legal teams in the North America region.”
S&C was shortlisted for:
- “Innovative Lawyers for Deals & Financing” for advising OpenAI, the company behind AI tools such as ChatGPT and Dall-E, in its multiyear, multibillion-dollar partnership with Microsoft. This deal is not only transformative for OpenAI and Microsoft, but for the entire tech industry and beyond.
- “Innovative Lawyers in Energy Transition” for advising California Resources Corporation in a joint venture with Brookfield Renewable aimed at significantly progressing the decarbonization of California through the first carbon capture and sequestration project undertaken in the state.
