On June 14, Börsenzeitung published an article titled “S&C strengthens Brussels with Götz Drauz” on S&C’s hiring of Götz Drauz. Götz joined the Firm’s newly opened Brussels office, which is headed by Michael Rosenthal. Götz brings over 25 years of government experience from his time at the European Commission where he served, inter alia, as Deputy Director-General and head of the Merger Task Force. The article also discusses Michael's recent matters before joining S&C including his work for K+S (in regards to Potash Corp’s takeover attempt) and BMW (currently in connection with an EU litigation against the European Commission before the European courts). The Firm has existing European offices in London, Paris and Frankfurt, and has been expanding its antitrust team with Renata Hesse, former head of the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust division, among others.
