Alumina Limited, an Australian company that invests in bauxite mines and alumina refineries, received a $2.2 billion all-stock acquisition proposal from Alcoa, a global producer of bauxite, alumina and aluminum products.
The companies have entered into a transaction process and exclusivity deed, which grants Alcoa a 20-business day period of exclusivity to finalize an agreement.
