Rhône Capital (Rhône) has agreed to sell Fogo de Chão (Fogo), the internationally renowned restaurant brand from Brazil, to Bain Capital Private Equity for $1.1 billion.
Founded in Southern Brazil in 1979, Fogo features the centuries-old cooking technique of churrasco —the art of roasting high-quality cuts of meat over an open flame — at its 76 locations worldwide. Under Rhône’s ownership, Fogo saw rapid growth across markets and is currently in its third year of 15 percent annual growth.
