March 1, 2019

Mehdi Ansari was recognized as an IP Trailblazer by the National Law Journal in its March special supplement. The Trailblazers series recognizes innovators in various aspects of legal work in the areas of patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret law. Mehdi spoke to NLJ about some of his most significant and IP-intensive recent matters, including his work representing Bayer AG in the IP aspects of its $66 billion acquisition of Monsanto and the divestiture of several crop science businesses to BASF for $9 billion. Mehdi also talked with NLJ about how he got his start in IP law: “I was quickly drawn to deal-making and negotiation and thus became interested in IP transactions,” he said. “I specifically joined Sullivan & Cromwell to work on cutting-edge and complex transactions focused on technology and intellectual property.”
