Shane Palmer is a special counsel in the Firm’s Litigation Group. His practice spans a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts, including securities class actions, breach-of-contract suits, intellectual property disputes, and shareholder derivative litigation. Mr. Palmer has represented clients in investigations and enforcement actions by government authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He has also advised clients in high-tech industries on antitrust matters and has counseled clients on FCPA-related transactional issues and internal controls.
Mr. Palmer’s pro bono service has included working with Kids in Need of Defense in representing clients on immigration-related matters, and helping the ACLU of Northern California to obtain a judgment against the California Department of State Hospitals and Department of Developmental Disabilities ruling that California's long delays in providing competency-restoration treatment for pre-trial detainees with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities are unconstitutional.
