In an interview with the publication, General Practice Group Co-Head Andrew Gerlach, Fintech Group Co-Head Rebecca Simmons, Securities & Commodities Investigations Practice Head Steve Peikin and Litigation Partner Jamie McDonald noted that investigations and litigation in this field often require expertise in a broad array of practices. “This multidisciplinary approach is one we’ve brought to other areas, but we think it’s particularly valuable in the digital asset space, where companies are facing complex legal questions as they break new ground within existing or emerging industries,” Jamie said.
They discussed the Firm’s representation of FTX Trading and more than 100 affiliates in their Chapter 11 cases, and EDX Markets, a first-of-its-kind cryptocurrency exchange founded by a coalition of traditional financial industry investors, on regulatory matters relating to the launch of its exchange in June 2023.
