Kyra Laursen has been named this year’s recipient of Sullivan & Cromwell’s Alexandra D. Korry Award.
The award, established in 2021, honors the memory and legacy of the late S&C partner Alexandra D. Korry. A passionate leader, a dedicated mentor and one of the first women partners in S&C’s M&A group, Alexandra was a trailblazer throughout her legal career. To honor that legacy, the Alexandra D. Korry Award recognizes an individual, nominated by a member of the S&C community, who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to supporting, mentoring and serving as a resource to women at S&C and in the legal profession during the preceding year.
As S&C’s Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Talent Development, Kyra’s contributions to fostering community at S&C are nearly too many to count. Her team provides myriad opportunities for professional growth, support and networking, and her door is always open for lawyers and professionals across the Firm.
“I had the great privilege to know Alexandra and she was a really extraordinary woman,” said Kyra, highlighting the important role that mentorship played in both of their careers. “I want to pay all of that forward and do what I can to uplift the next group of leaders. I want to foster inclusive spaces where everybody can thrive.”
