Nader Mousavi, Co-Head of S&C’s Intellectual Property and Technology Group, earned the recognition “Attorney of the Year” at The Recorder’s California Legal Awards. Based in S&C’s Palo Alto office, Nader has guided major companies and tech innovators on their most significant IP and technology transactions for more than 25 years. He recently advised OpenAI—the company behind ChatGPT and Dall-E—in the multibillion-dollar partnership with Microsoft that has ushered in a new era of artificial intelligence. Nader also advised Character.ai, a leading full stack conversational AI platform, on its strategic partnership with Google Cloud for cloud infrastructure to train and build sophisticated AI models.
S&C also was shortlisted for “Tech Industry Advisory Team of the Year” for advising on some of the most significant tech deals of the past year, including for OpenAI and Character.ai. In addition to its innovative work in the AI space, S&C has recently advised clients on a wide range of transactions involving the tech industry with billions at stake and significant market implications, including AT&T’s spin-off of Warner Media, Amgen’s $27.8 billion acquisition of Horizon, FTX’s bankruptcy and the reorganization of Silicon Valley Bank’s parent company.
