Ken Li has been named a Law360 “Rising Star” for Banking—one of five Sullivan & Cromwell partners selected in 2023 from more than 1,300 submissions. A partner in S&C’s Financial Services Group, Ken’s recent work includes leading the deal team advising JPMorgan in its acquisition of Aumni, an investment analytics provider, and guiding Credit Suisse through its recently closed combination with UBS and a series of transactions to exit Credit Suisse’s Securitized Products business.
Asked about his proudest accomplishment as an attorney, Ken pointed to his tenure as Co-Chair of S&C’s Asian Associates Network, an affinity group providing a space for Asian lawyers at the firm to connect, find mutual support and engage in professional development. That role was particularly demanding during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with the rise of hate crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. “The bonding we were able to do, the awareness-raising we were able to do inside and outside the firm. … To me, that was really a marker of what I'm able to do and what I can hopefully achieve going forward.”
