Nicky Friedlander and Tony Lewis, Co-Heads of S&C’s Cybersecurity Practice, have been named to Cybersecurity Docket’s “Incident Response 50” for 2023. This list honors the 50 “best data breach response lawyers in the country” based on nominations, input from senior lawyers and other professionals in the field and research. This is the fourth time that Nicky has been named to the list.
Nicky and Tony are a critical resource for major corporations and boards of directors in cybersecurity planning, governance, disclosure issues, and incident response. They advise on cybersecurity matters for companies across sectors, including financial services, technology, digital assets, energy, manufacturing, and retail.
Nicky previously served as Chief of the Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she led high-profile white collar and cybercrime cases. In cybersecurity, Nicky identified and prosecuted the perpetrators of massive breaches at multiple U.S. financial institutions, led numerous national security investigations, and brought a groundbreaking indictment of a cryptocurrency exchange.
Tony previously served as Deputy Chief of the Terrorism and Export Crimes Section for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, where he investigated and charged a conspiracy by North Korean hackers to engage in the largest-ever cyber heist at Bangladesh’s central bank, to hack Sony Pictures Entertainment, and to unleash WannaCry ransomware worldwide.
