Three deals on which S&C’s Tax Group advised won Deal of the Year awards at the
International Tax Review Americas 2018 Awards. These awards were:
- Americas Private Equity Tax Deal of the Year, for Calpine Corporation’s acquisition by an affiliate of Energy Capital Partners and a consortium of investors
- Americas M&A Tax Deal of the Year, for Amazon.com’s acquisition of Whole Foods Market
- Americas Consumer Products Tax Deal of the Year, for Amazon.com’s acquisition of Whole Foods Market
- Americas Energy Tax Deal of the Year, for the merger of Enbridge and Spectra Energy.
Winners were announced at a dinner held on September 13 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
