Andrei Iancu, former Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, was featured in LexisNexis’ Cipher Vision podcast, where he discussed the importance of having a robust system of intellectual property rights and laws to foster a strong innovation economy.
Andrei emphasized why patent rights and laws are good for a healthy economy. “Not only do intellectual property rights incentivize and protect innovation, [they] also facilitate the transfer of innovation and the collaboration surrounding innovation between companies…. Intellectual property, patents in particular, are the currency of innovation,” Andrei noted.
