On August 21, Renata Hesse, co-head of S&C’s Antitrust Group, spoke at the Competition Law & Policy Institute of New Zealand’s annual workshop. The online workshop explored the role of antitrust in times of economic crisis and recovery, among other topics. Renata offered a presentation on acquisitions of nascent competitors, also known as “killer acquisitions.” Dr. Will Taylor of NERA Economic Consulting chaired the session, and Ian Thain of DLA Piper also participated.
