S&C litigation partner Renata Hesse, co-head of the firm’s Antitrust Group, participated in a virtual discussion of the ways in which antitrust law can be employed to encourage innovation. Questions addressed included antitrust’s role in the legal and policy world; whether deregulation has fostered innovation and growth in Silicon Valley and beyond; and how antitrust might evolve in the wake of technological change.
The roundtable, held online on December 10, was hosted by the University of California, Berkeley and also featured Professor Emeritus Richard Gilbert of U.C. Berkeley. The discussion was moderated by Matt Lynde of Cornerstone Research.
