Adam Szubin, a member of S&C’s
Financial Services Group, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee at a
hearing titled “Combating Kleptocracy: Beneficial Ownership, Money Laundering, and Other Reforms” on June 19. Adam’s testimony explored the importance of ensuring that the true ownership of U.S. companies is recorded and accessible to law enforcement where appropriate.
Adam focuses his practice on financial services and national security, with particular emphasis on economic sanctions, export controls, money laundering and counter terrorism. Prior to joining S&C, Adam served for two years as Acting Treasury Department Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. During his nearly 13 year tenure at the Treasury, Adam served as the Director of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control for nine years and Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
