Terumo Corporation Acquires Products Owned by Abbott Laboratories and St. Jude Medical, Inc. for $1.12 Billion

S&C client Terumo Corporation completed its acquisition from Abbott Laboratories and St. Jude Medical, Inc. (SJM) of certain assets and liabilities related to SJM's Angio-SealTM and FemoSealTM vascular closure product lines and all of the stock of Kalila Medical, Inc., a subsidiary of Abbott which manufactures Abbott's VadoTM Steerable Sheath, for an aggregate all-cash purchase price of $1.12 billion.
Tokyo-based Terumo is one of the world's leading medical device manufacturers with over $5 billion in sales. Terumo supplies a range of interventional access devices, including introducer sheaths and guide wires, and has operations in over 160 countries.
