The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (“DFC”), a U.S. governmental organization that seeks to promote American interests through its support of private investment in other countries, is in the process of updating its Environmental and Social Policy and Procedures (“ESPP”), which help guide DFC’s investment decisions. As part of this effort, DFC has recently published a draft of the revised ESPP for public review and comment, which is accessible here. Comments are to be submitted before April 28, 2023. This memo summarizes a few of the key proposed changes that applicants seeking DFC support for their projects should take note of.
