On June 7, 2021, the New York State Senate passed the “Twenty-First Century Anti-Trust Act”. New York State Senator Michael Gianaris, who co-sponsored the bill, described it as addressing what he viewed as the “desperate need to radically alter our regulatory efforts on antitrust.” Although New York’s General Assembly did not take up the proposed legislation before the legislative session ended on June 10, Senator Gianaris is reported to be committed to advancing the bill next session.
