Beth Newton has been named a Law360 Rising Star for her work in the white collar field. Law360 highlighted Beth's work in securing a suite of declinations for energy conglomerate Eni SpA, as well as her representation of MUFG Bank in a lawsuit regarding the conversion of its state banking licenses to federal licenses. Like most S&C lawyers, Beth is a generalist. Soon after joining the Firm, she began work on a complex Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation that became a formative part of her early career. "I started out as the most junior attorney on the team, but it was a long-running investigation, and I wound up as the lawyer running the team a few years in," she said. She has continued to apply that experience in leading teams across a variety of other matters, in both the enforcement and civil litigation contexts.
The award recognizes the top legal talent under 40, with winners “practicing at a level usually seen from veteran attorneys.”
