S&C Recognized at The Legal Aid Society’s 2009 Pro Bono Awards Ceremony

SULLIVAN & CROMWELL LLP was recognized at The Legal Aid Society’s 2009 Pro Bono Awards Ceremony in New York. The Firm was honored in the category, “Making a Difference in the Lives of Vulnerable Young Children with Special Needs and Teenagers with Major Problems,” for its pro bono initiatives in juvenile justice. S&C lawyers have been representing children accused of juvenile delinquency, working from both the Manhattan and Brooklyn offices of The Legal Aid Society's Juvenile Rights Practice. The attorneys have been engaged in motion practice, trials and negotiations with probation and other agencies. The Firm was also named to the Legal Aid Society's pro bono "honor roll."

S&C Associates Maureen Fitzgerald and Jennifer Murray were honored for their outstanding assistance to a homeless woman and her toddler on a housing matter. The awards were presented by the Honorable Jonathan Lippman, Chief Judge of the State of New York.
