S&C M&A Partner Frank Aquila Named Top Dealmaker by The Wall Street Journal for Second Consecutive Year

S&C M&A partner Frank Aquila has been named one of 2019's top dealmakers by The Wall Street Journal—the second year in a row he has been so honored.
 
Each year, the WSJ speaks to “the advisers behind this year's biggest deals” to get their thoughts on the current environment and what lies in store for the coming year. Last year, Frank was highlighted for his role on one of the year's biggest energy deals. This year, he was singled out for his roles advising on Tiffany & Co.'s $16.2 billion sale to LVMH, Novartis AG's $9.7 billion acquisition of The Medicines Co., and Amgen Inc.'s $13.4 billion purchase of Otezla from Celgen Corp. Frank told the WSJ that the resolution of Brexit and trade issues could boost the M&A market as deals previously shelved amid the uncertainty come back and companies adjust to a low-growth environment. “If you want outsized growth, the way you get it is through transactions that yield revenue growth with immediate synergies,” he said.
