The letter above was sent on June 15, 1995, announcing the opening of S&C's Frankfurt office, the Firm's ninth office overall and its sixth outside of the United States.
 
A lot has changed since then:
 
Initially a four-person U.S. “facility” of the firm, a German law team was established in 2001 with the arrival of two leading German partners, Wolfgang Feuring and Konstantin Technau. Today, the Frankfurt team includes 30 German, U.S. and dual-qualified lawyers.
 
The Frankfurt office practice focusses on four pillars: M&A/Private Equity, Capital Markets, Finance & Restructuring and Competition Law.
 
Over the past 25 years, the Frankfurt office has established itself as a market leader for both M&A and Capital Markets in Germany. The team has advised on 16 of the 20 biggest IPOs in Germany since 2000, been recognized as the top international legal adviser to German issuers (by total aggregate value and number of deals) on bond offerings since 2015, and is constantly ranked among the top M&A firms in Germany.
