UBS announced on July 22 an exclusive 20-year naming rights sponsorship agreement for a new live entertainment and sports venue that will be the future home of the NHL’s New York Islanders in Elmont, New York. UBS Arena is part of a $1.5 billion redevelopment project at Belmont Park being developed in partnership with the Oak View Group (U.S.), the Islanders and Sterling Project Development (U.S.). The arena is projected to open for the 2021-22 National Hockey League season, will host more than 150 major events annually and is expected to generate approximately $25 billion in economic activity over the term of the lease. Mehdi Ansari and Rich Le Page led the team representing UBS, which also included Rebecca Simmons, Joe Matelis, Elizabeth Davy, Frederick Wertheim and Isaac Wheeler.
