Anika Therapeutics, a global maker and distributer of therapeutic products, announced its plans to acquire two companies that will expand its offerings used for joint replacements and preservation: ArthroSurface and Parcus Medical.
ArthroSurface is a global leader in joint preservation technology, manufacturing less invasive joint replacements. Anika Therapeutics will pay $60 million and potential earn-out payments of up to $40 million. Parcus Medical is a leading provider of instrumentation used in procedures to preserve shoulders, knees and other joints. Anika will pay $35 million upfront and potential earn-out payments of up to $60 million.
The S&C team advising Anika Therapeutics on both transactions was led by M&A partners Keith Pagnani and Melissa Sawyer and included associate Benjamin Goodchild, executive compensation partner Matt Friestedt, intellectual property partner Mehdi Ansari and tax partner Davis Wang.
