Rita-Anne O’Neill was named “Private Equity Lawyer of the Year” at the Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Awards. The awards recognize women and firms “advancing diversity in the profession and the lawyers providing exemplary services and driving success for their practices.”
Rita is co-head of S&C’s Global Private Equity Group and advises clients in a wide range of industries on mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings, and provides general corporate advice on disclosure and governance. Among other accomplishments, Euromoney Americas recognized Rita for her work advising:
- Ares Management in its acquisition of Press Ganey and in connection with representing Ares, as a member of a consortium led by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, in the acquisition of Cincinnati Bell Inc.
- Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board in its strategic investment in Mitratech
- Ares Management and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board in their acquisition of TricorBraun
- The AZEK Company Inc. in its $879.5 million initial public offering.
Euromoney also highlighted Rita’s contributions to the legal community. She serves as the co-chair of the Tulane Corporate Law Institute, which organizes the most influential M&A conference in the United States, and as co-chair of the ABA’s Women in M&A Subcommittee, which promotes the recruiting, retention and promotion of women lawyers in M&A. She also is a member of S&C’s Women’s Initiative Committee, supporting the Firm’s ongoing efforts to advance its women lawyers through professional development and mentoring opportunities.
Rita has previously been named a “Rising Star” by IFLR1000 and Euromoney at their Americas Women in Business Law Awards.
