Renata Hesse Participates in NYU Law Panel Following Speech by DOJ Antitrust Division Head Markan Delrahim

S&C partner Renata Hesse participated in a panel hosted by NYU Law School’s Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement in New York City. The panel discussion followed a speech given by Makan Delrahim, Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, titled “A New Model for Incentivizing Antitrust Compliance Programs.” In his speech, Makan announced the Antitrust Division’s new approach to evaluating corporate compliance programs in criminal antitrust investigations. Other panelists include prominent practitioners and government officials.

Renata is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Group. She joined S&C following a distinguished career in government, including leading the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice twice as Acting Assistant Attorney General and serving that division for more than 15 years. Renata was previously Chief of the Networks and Technology Section (now the Technology and Financial Services Section) and a Trial Attorney in two Division sections, and has worked extensively with antitrust and competition law enforcement agencies at the highest levels across Asia, Europe, Australia and Latin America.

At S&C, her practice focuses on antitrust counseling, cartels and merger clearance for some of the world’s biggest companies on a range of high-stakes antitrust matters. Most recently, she advised client Praxair, Inc. in its $80 billion merger of equals with Linde AG.
