Renata Hesse and Michael Rosenthal will speak at a virtual conference, “Antitrust & Competition in Key Industry Segments” on July 15. The conference, sponsored by S&C and hosted by Sandpiper Partners, will feature discussions on the building momentum for stronger antitrust enforcement across a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, health care, financial services, and telecom. The program will be divided into four segments: conduct, mergers, regulation/legislation and criminal litigation. Representatives from the U.S. and E.U governmental and regulatory bodies will also join the event, including:
- Nicholas Banasevic, Head of Unit for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition;
- Emma M. Burnham, Assistant Chief of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s Washington Criminal I Section;
- Sarah Cardell, General Counsel for the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority;
- Aaron Hoag, Chief of the Technology and Digital Platforms Section of the DOJ’s Antitrust Division;
- Marc Lanoue, Counsel Detailee to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition, Policy and Consumer Rights;
- Guillaume Loriot, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition; and
- Kathleen O’Neill, the Senior Director of Investigations and Litigation for the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division.
