S&C Recognized as One of the Most Innovative Firms in North America for 2017 by the Financial Times

On December 11, S&C won the “Innovation in Legal Expertise: Managing Complexity and Scale” award at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America 2017 Awards for its representation of State Grid International Corporation in its acquisition of CPFL Energia. Winners were announced at a dinner and award ceremony at the New York Public Library in New York City.

On December 12, the Financial Times also published its FT North America Innovative Lawyers 2017 report, in which S&C was listed among the “FT25: Most Innovative Law Firms and Legal Service Providers 2017.” The firm was also twice listed as a “Standout” in the category of “Managing Complexity and Scale” for both its representation of State Grid International Corporation and its representation of TerraForm Power and TerraForm Global in their sale by SunEdison to Brookfield Asset Management. Sergio Galvis received an individual commendation in connection with the State Grid matter. The Firm was also listed as “Commended” in the area of “Data, Knowledge and Intelligence” for its Banking Enforcement Actions Tracker. In addition, the report featured an article titled “Sunny outcome in solar bankruptcy” that explored the matter in which S&C advised TerraForm Power and TerraForm Global.
