M&A partners Keith Pagnani and Krishna Veeraraghavan were recognized as “Health Care Law Trailblazers” by the National Law Journal in its May 2019 special supplement. The inaugural list honors 25 individuals in the legal industry who have made an impact in the health care sector through new types of strategies or innovative court cases.
A co-head of S&C’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Group, Keith was selected for his deep experience and broad array of work in the industry. NLJ highlighted his long career practicing in the space spanning from the representation of Pharmacia in its merger with Pfizer in the early 2000s to his representation of UnitedHealth Group in its purchase of Amil. When asked about one of the keys to the success of S&C’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Group, Keith says our approach “is to have as broad a focus as possible. We want to be an A-to-Z player across the entire industry.”
Known in the industry for bridging M&A and health care, Krishna was featured for his work representing Praxair in its merger of equals with Linde (on which he and Keith worked side-by-side), INC Research Holdings in its merger of equals with inVentiv Health to create Syneos Health, and Stemcentrx in its acquisition of AbbVie. Looking ahead to 2019, Krishna says, “The sector is growing, and it is becoming a more important part of the economy… there are a number of factors that I expect will drive continued M&A activity.”
