On October 25, Global Investigations Review (GIR) named S&C the “Most Impressive Investigations Practice” of the year. The firm was selected based on a number of matters over the last year, including: Barclays’s first-of-its-kind declination from DOJ to resolve an FX front-running investigation; Barclays’s $2 billion settlement of FIRREA charges associated with residential mortgage-backed securities; U.S. Bancorp’s settlement with four U.S. authorities for violations of the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering rules; and Kinross Gold Corporation’s modest foreign bribery settlement with the SEC. Alexander Willscher, Richard Klapper, Jeffrey Scott, Jonathan Sedlak, Samuel Seymour and Ann-Elizabeth Ostrager were specifically recognized by GIR for their work on these matters.
