Sergio Galvis was recognized as an Energy & Environmental Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. Sergio spoke to The NLJ about some of his most innovative and challenging matters in the energy sector, including advising on State Grid’s $13 billion acquisition of CPFL Energia in Brazil and the creation of the first privately owned oil pipeline in Ecuador. Sergio also considered the intersection of energy and infrastructure: “Notwithstanding uncertainty around the future of NAFTA, the U.S. shale gas revolution inevitably will lead to much greater integration of the U.S., Mexican and Canadian oil and gas sectors and related infrastructure, such as pipelines, LNG facilities and downstream operations,” he said.
