M&A partners Alison Ressler and Eric Krautheimer were named to the 2020 list of “Top 100 Lawyers” by the
Daily Journal, which “celebrates California attorneys doing cutting-edge legal work.” Alison has been recognized on this list for over a decade, and this is Eric’s fourth consecutive year on the list.
Alison is a leading authority on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and capital markets, whose 30-year career includes iconic deals. Since the beginning of 2020—a period marked by uncertainty and volatility across industries—Alison completed a series of deals, including two significant divestitures, an
out-of-court restructuring and a minority investment, and an in-court restructuring. One such deal was Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing’s $1.5 billion acquisition by Stanley Black & Decker. “We were able to get the deal closed on February 24, literally right before the world fell apart… Getting the sale done for [Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing] and its owners right as this was unfolding was a terrific outcome for them," she said. For more than 25 years,
Eric has represented some of the world’s most important enterprises in transformative transactions, including the largest deal for a pre-commercial biopharmaceutical company and the largest all-cash takeover of a public company. In the midst of the
COVID-19 pandemic, clients have continued to turn to Eric for advice with a host of novel legal and business issues, such as small business loans, financing options and other avenues of relief. Despite the global slowdown, Eric sees signs of a revival. "We're on the verge of seeing a big recovery in M&A," he said. "There are transactions people were thinking about before things shut down that made sense to them, that continue to make sense to them today.” Click
