David Gilberg and John Miller Co-author Chapter on Registration and Regulation of Derivatives Clearing Organizations

Messrs. Gilberg and Miller, with the assistance of Mr. Wolf, co-authored the chapter “Derivatives Clearing Organization Registration and Regulation” in the treatise OTC Derivatives Regulation Under Dodd-Frank: A Guide to Registration, Reporting, Business Conduct, and Clearing, 2015 Edition. The chapter was also co-authored with Kathleen Peacock, U.S. General Counsel of S&C client LCH.Clearnet, a derivatives clearing organization registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

The recently released treatise provides a comprehensive summary of the new swap regulatory regime under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act. The chapter provides an overview of the registration requirements for derivatives clearing organization under Title VII and a description of the regulatory regime that applies to registered derivatives clearing organizations, both with respect to swaps and listed futures and options on futures.
