Garrard Beeney and Renata Hesse, Co-Heads of the Firm’s
Intellectual Property and
Antitrust Groups, respectively, co-authored the United States chapter in the third edition of
The Intellectual Property and Antitrust Review. This volume is designed to provide an annual overview of important legal developments affecting the intersection of intellectual property and antitrust law. Published in July 2018, the chapter discusses the federal antitrust statutes, associated case law and the updated FTC and DOJ Antitrust Guidelines for the Licensing of Intellectual Property, while highlighting the impact that licensing intellectual property has on antitrust compliance and the treatment of intellectual property in mergers and acquisitions, among other topics.
