S&C litigation partner Nicolas Bourtin, managing partner of S&C’s Criminal Defense and Investigations Group, served as the editor of the recently released ninth edition of The International Investigations Review. This publication aims to assist corporate counsel in advising clients in the increasingly international corporate investigations climate.
In his preface, Nic notes that “while US authorities in 2018 announced policy modifications intended to clarify or rationalise the process of resolving corporate investigations, the trends towards more enforcement and harsher penalties have continued.” Nic adds that these trends are not limited to the United States, but have spread to a variety of jurisdictions. In seeking to best assist corporate counsel through these criminal and regulatory investigations, the ninth edition covers 25 jurisdictions and relevant legal topics, including digital forensics, forensic accounting, and the management of multi-jurisdictional criminal investigations. Associate Kevin Levenberg co-authored the United States chapter with Nic.
