Frank Aquila and Melissa Sawyer Co-author Cover Article in The M&A Lawyer on Resurgence of M&A in 2015

February 9, 2016

Mr. Aquila and Ms. Sawyer wrote the article “The Force Awakens: A Resurgence of M&A in 2015” in the January edition of The M&A Lawyer. Mr. Aquila and Ms. Sawyer discussed major trends and developments in M&A over the past year, including activism developments, pressure on private equity, proxy access developments, the M&A regulatory environment and Delaware law developments. “We think that while M&A activity will inevitably slow down a little in 2016, we will continue to see a steady stream of high profile, public company deals. Specifically, we predict there will be more M&A activity involving tech companies… we also expect there will be continued activity among pharmaceutical companies,” they wrote. “The big question on our minds is whether we will see any more historic Fortune 100 American corporations go the way of Kraft and DuPont in a widening trend of consolidation and restructuring.”
