Don Korb, Andy Mason, Andy Solomon and Jim Gadwood Author Brazilian Tax Settlements: Administrative Settlement of Tax Disputes Would Become Possible Under Legislation Pending in Brazilian National Congress, Latin American Law & Business Report

November 2009

James Gadwood, Donald Korb, Andrew Mason and Andrew Solomon published an article in the November 2009 issue of Latin American Law & Business Report. The article discussed Brazil’s pending bill that, if passed, will change how the country resolves tax disputes. Currently, Brazil requires tax disputes to be settled by litigation, but the proposed bill would allow such disputes to be settled by negotiation. The authors note that if the bill is passed, in addition to being an important development for Brazil, it will allow non-Brazilian companies to resolve tax controversies with the Brazilian Federal Revenue Department with increased efficiency.
