"Taming the Litigation Beast" (BusinessWeek)

April 6, 2010

In his most recent BusinessWeek column, Mr. Aquila discussed the American judicial system, noting that Americans take more disputes to the courtroom than any other country. To curb the high cost of litigation, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution has initiated alternative ways to settle disputes such as negotiation, mediation and arbitration. Mr. Aquila pointed out that dispute prevention is one of the best ways to avoid litigation, and said that “a systematic approach to eliminating sources of conflict can and does yield significant benefits to all parties.” The column was also featured in BusinessWeek Insider, BusinessWeek’s weekly e-letter, and on RealClearMarkets.com.
