Pedro José Izquierdo and Sophie Kivett, in collaboration with lawyers from Von Wobeser y Sierra in Mexico City, have co-authored the Mexico chapter in Global Arbitration Review’s (GAR) Know How Construction Arbitration. The publication provides an overview of common construction arbitration issues in 21 countries.
The chapter explores construction arbitration in Mexico as its relates to contract formation, implied terms, basis for delay and damages claims, third party actions, enforcement of arbitration agreements and awards and other factors. Von Wobeser y Sierra has one of Mexico’s top international arbitration practices and collaborated with S&C in successfully defending a subsidiary of Texas-based Sempra Energy in an ICC arbitration brought by Shell and Gazprom.
