Nicky Friedlander and Tony Lewis joined Sandpiper Partners’ third annual Cybersecurity and Privacy East Coast Conference, which was held virtually on July 21 and included senior leaders from the Treasury, Department of Homeland Security, DOJ, SEC, and NY DFS, and senior counsel from global corporations. Nicky organized the conference and served as a co-moderator of two panels. The first, “Ransomware Attacks,” offered practical guidance on responding to ransomware attacks, including the role of the board and senior management. The second, “Breaches in the M&A Context and Disclosure Controls in Cybersecurity,” addressed responding to a breach pre- and post-signing, establishing effective disclosure controls and procedures, and recent SEC enforcement activity. Tony was featured on the panel, “Supply Chain Attacks: Views from the Government and Industry Experts.” This panel examined the impact of SolarWinds and other systemic breaches, and related governance issues and enforcement activity.
