H. Rodgin Cohen was interviewed on CNBC by Larry Kudlow about the government's possible increase of its stake in Citi, and the issue of bank nationalization. "I think it is a bad idea for the government to be making decisions for one of the country's major banks," he cautioned, adding that "when you mix the public and private, you have confusion of direction, policy and strategy." However, Mr. Cohen expressed optimism that banks will turn around, noting that the leadership in Washington "believes strongly in private enterprise."
