"Regulation Revolution"

CNBC's Squawk Box - July 6, 2009

SULLIVAN & CROMWELL LLP Counsel William Kroener appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box segment titled, "Regulation Revolution." The segment focused on the regulation proposal laid out by the Obama administration and the political realities surrounding the proposal. "I find that the administration's proposal is somewhat timid and perhaps a lost opportunity to be bold. It accepts in large measure the existing regulatory structure and creates a council to oversee risk. I believe that group bodies have been a problem historically, and I am concerned that that will continue to be the case. I would strongly prefer that there be a single systemic monitor for the entire system, rather than kind of the council that the administration proposal opts for," Mr. Kroener said.
