Arguably Wall Street's top lawyer, who was in the thick of the action, as usual.” In looking back at the collapse of Lehman Brothers last September, Mr. Cohen said, “We were as close as I've ever seen to the edge of the abyss – the abyss being a collapse of the financial system.” Also, in a September 26 Wall Street Journal Money Blog, “Lehman Adviser See New Risks,” Mr. Cohen said that at times he feared that the market meltdown that followed Lehman's collapse might bring down the financial system, and he shared his concerns about the potential of hundreds more bank failures.
