“Frank Aquila Expects Increase in Healthcare M&A in 2010” (Bloomberg TV)

December 21, 2009

Mr. Aquila was interviewed on Bloomberg TV about the mergers and acquisitions market outlook for 2010. Mr. Aquila attributed the recent increase in M&A activity to strategy rather than finances. In an effort to further reduce cost and stay competitive, companies are combining and are able to do more with less. As Mr. Aquila noted, although this consolidation trend is apparent across industries it is most prominent within the healthcare sector. He credited this in part to the speculation surrounding healthcare reform and the changing landscape. In addition to healthcare, industries to watch in 2010 also include financial institutions, oil, energy and basic materials.
