On December 11, Lawdragon published a Lawyer Limelight interview with Karen Patton Seymour. In the interview, Karen discussed her transition to criminal defense work at S&C from her time as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan, and her second stint at the U.S. Attorney's Office as chief of its Criminal Division, during which she tried the Martha Stewart case. She explained the unique challenges of the work in all phases of her career, as well as what she has found rewarding. She also spoke about her strategies for defending clients both during trial and in negotiations outside of court, about trends and developments in the practice of white collar criminal defense and about the public interest areas on which she works, among other topics.
