Adam Paris Interviewed by GC Agenda on Competitively Sensitive Information Exchanges

May 8, 2017

In its May/June 2017 issue, Adam Paris was interviewed by GC Agenda, which provides “a round-up of major horizon issues for General Counsel.” Adam contributed to the Antitrust section, which discussed the recent settlement of a DOJ lawsuit against DirecTV Group, in which the DOJ alleged that DirecTV had violated antitrust laws by facilitating the exchange of competitively sensitive information with three competitors during negotiations with Time Warner Cable. The section noted that the settlement reinforced the ideas that companies should “implement a robust antitrust compliance program to detect and prevent information exchanges that reduce competition and other conduct that violates the antitrust laws” and “conduct compliance training for key employees, such as sales and marketing employees.”
